Author Guidelines
Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript to JBMRCP.
Note: All submissions are subject to a double-blind peer review. Authors are required to remove all personal identifiers from the manuscript file before submission. Please refer to the APC page for publication fees.

Focus and Scope
The Journal of Biomedical Research and Clinical Practice (JBMRCP) publishes high-quality research across all fields of medical and biomedical sciences, including:
- Clinical practice and patient care
- Basic medical sciences (physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, pharmacology)
- Public health and community medicine
- Obstetrics and gynaecology
- Paediatrics, surgery, and internal medicine
- Microbiology, haematology, and chemical pathology
- Radiology, psychiatry, and anaesthesia
- Ophthalmology, ENT, and family medicine
Types of Manuscripts
3,000-5,000 words, structured abstract (250 words max), 3-6 keywords.
4,000-6,000 words, unstructured abstract, comprehensive literature review.
Up to 1,500 words, unstructured abstract, clinical significance.
Up to 1,500 words, preliminary or urgent findings.
Up to 500 words, commentary on published articles.
Up to 300 words, high-quality image with brief description.
Formatting Requirements
- File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
- Language: UK English (preferred) or US English (consistent)
- Font: Times New Roman, 12pt
- Line spacing: Double (2.0) throughout
- Margins: 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides
- Page numbers: Centered at bottom of each page
- Referencing style: Vancouver (numbered citations)
- Blinding: Remove all author names and affiliations from the manuscript file
- Word count limit: As specified per article type (plus max 5 tables/figures)
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be organized as follows:
- Title Page (separate file): Title, author names, affiliations, ORCID IDs, corresponding author contact, conflict of interest statement, funding sources.
- Blinded Manuscript (no author identifiers): Title, abstract, keywords, main text, references, tables, figure legends.
- Abstract: Structured (Background, Methods, Results, Conclusion) – max 250 words for original research.
- Keywords: 3-6 relevant terms (MeSH terms preferred).
- Introduction: Background and study rationale.
- Methods: Study design, setting, participants, ethical approval, data analysis.
- Results: Findings with appropriate tables and figures.
- Discussion: Interpretation, comparison with literature, limitations.
- Conclusion: Summary and implications.
- References: Vancouver style (numbered sequentially).
- Tables and Figures: Embedded or uploaded separately with clear legends.
Ethical Considerations
- All research involving human participants must have ethical approval from an institutional review board (IRB) or ethics committee.
- Informed consent must be obtained from all participants.
- Animal studies must comply with institutional guidelines for animal care.
- Patients' identities must not be disclosed in text or images.
- Authors must declare any conflicts of interest.
- All authors must have contributed significantly to the work.
- JBMRCP follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
Submission Process
- Create an author account on the submission portal (or log in if you already have one).
- Click "New Submission" and follow the 5-step workflow.
- Upload your Title Page and Blinded Manuscript as separate files.
- Enter all metadata (title, abstract, keywords, author information).
- Upload any supplementary files (figures, tables, appendices).
- Confirm that all authors have reviewed and approved the submission.
- Submit for review.
Note: JBMRCP uses a double-blind peer review process. The review process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Accepted manuscripts are published within 3 months of final acceptance.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work. All articles published in JBMRCP are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits:
- Share, copy, and redistribute the material
- Adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the material
- Commercial use is permitted
- Proper attribution to the original authors and source is required
